King George III ruled over Great Britain, and the Continental Congress decided he was being an unkind friend. They wrote the Declaration of Independence to claim their newfound freedom. The declaration was voted for on July 2nd and approved on July 4th!

Answer: 1320 words long! It's comprised of five sections: The Introduction, The Preamble, Two Body Sections, and The Conclusion.
