Our Story

What started as a decision to homeschool my own little ones quickly blossomed into something more—a passion for making history come alive for kids. As parents, we share similar concerns about public schools today: Will my child receive a quality education? Are they being taught how to think or just what to think? Is there a political agenda at play? And, of course, the classic, "What did you learn today?" met with the ever-mysterious, "I don’t know." The truth is, unless we're sitting in that classroom, we'll never fully know what information our kids are absorbing.

Our Mission

That’s why I created Little Lion History—to bring quality, engaging education right into your home, focusing on one of the most important subjects: history. Our books are designed to introduce your pre-K and kindergarten children to the essential stories of our past, laying a foundation they can build on for years to come. By learning from the triumphs and mistakes of those who came before us, your child will grow into a Lion and Leader, ready to protect and enhance our country’s future. With Little Lion History, you’ll know exactly what your child is learning—and you’ll love the journey just as much as they do.

Meet The Founder

Hi there! I’m Brenda Burnacci, and for me, history without enthusiasm is like food without salt—bland and something you only endure when you have to. As a mom with a dream to homeschool my kids, I knew I had to add some flavor to the way we teach history. After countless bedtime stories, I learned what kept my little ones captivated and what made them close the book before I’d even finished the first sentence. Rhymes and interactive pages were always a hit, so I made sure those elements were at the heart of my books.

In today’s world, where sending your child out into the unknown feels more daunting than ever, I felt a strong pull to bring quality education into our home. We've all heard that history repeats itself, and I couldn’t help but wonder why we weren’t doing more to learn from our past. That’s when I knew I wanted to introduce history in a way that’s simple, engaging, and sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning. After all, a dash of curiosity—and a pinch of salt—can make all the difference.
